When God speaks His Word, what happens? God’s Word is what creates and brings life! In Hebrew, the word for “word” is the same as for a thing. God’s Word is more real than even the physical things around us that God’s Word spoke into existence.
God’s Word is life-giving Spirit. Where we have God’s Word, we have His Spirit! God’s Word and His Spirit are an inseparable entity. When you use God’s Word, expect to find His Spirit there!

Hebrews 4:12–13: For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account.
John 16:8-11: And when He has come, He will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: of sin, because they do not believe in Me; of righteousness, because I go to My Father and you see Me no more; of judgment, because the ruler of this world is judged.
John 16:12-15: “I still have many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come. He will glorify Me, for He will take of what is Mine and declare it to you.
Genesis 1:27–28: So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. Then God blessed them, and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.”
- God’s Word is Spirit that has creative power, life, revelation, and truth!
Whose job is it to bring life, convict, judge, and show truth? (Jesus’ Word and His Spirit) This work is not for me or you, rather people must wrestle directly with the Living Word and Spirit of God! God’s Living Word and Spirit is what is alive and powerful; It is Spirit and It is life, leading us into all truth.
What happens when I take responsibility for the work of the Spirit by trying to convict, judge, and convince people of truth? (I sabotage the Spirit’s work.) Jesus clearly commanded us not to judge. We so often take over the work of the Spirit because we don’t have the faith that He will do His own work. God’s Word and Spirit is what will judge and lead to truth. Jesus clearly commanded us not to judge. We so often take over the work of the Spirit because we don’t have the faith that God’s Spirit will do His own work.
Live in the liberty of trusting the Spirit to work with God’s Word to do His job of leading into life and truth. Use God’s Word as Spirit and Life!
